Fashion designers create stylish apparels and accessories through their original designs or adapting fashion trends to suit buyers. They are the ones who approve final samples before they go into production. The designer begins the designing process only after thorough market research, i.e. understanding the needs of the client/market in terms of changing trends and budget etc. Accessory designers specialise in designing shoes, bags, scarves, jewellery and ties etc which complete the look of the apparel. The work environment for designers varies. Some work in quiet, spacious, well-lit, and well-ventilated areas. Others may work in small areas close to crowded workrooms. Designers work independently but spend much of their time coordinating their work with workroom personnel, buyers, sales personnel, firm members, patrons, and other artists. Designers may travel out of the country for shows, conferences or shopping. They may work under pressure for long periods to meet deadlines and budget limitations. Many designers are busy all year preparing styles for the following seasons.
