If there's one thing that we know about Queen Latifah, it's that she can go from slummin' to slammin' when it's time for her to hit the red carpet; and the premiere for her new movie Just Wright was no exception. Makeup artist Monifa Mortis shares these tips on how she created Queen's look:
The inspiration for the look was Spring Chic, earth tones with a metallic finish. Queen had metallic themes in her outfit: gold jewelry, gold in her boots so we wanted to play up those colors.
For the eye I used a combination of gunmetal, green and charcoal colors. To get the look, try COVERGIRL Smoky ShadowBlast in Citrus Flair using the green color on the base of the lid and blend up, layerCOVERGIRL Smoky ShadowBlast in Silver Sky over the green in the crease of the eye and blend up towards the brow bone. Add a gold highlighter along the lower lash line and up at the brow bone, tryCOVERGIRL Smoky ShadowBlast in Bronze Fire. To finish her eye, I used a few coats of COVERGIRL LashBlast Length Mascara in black for glamorous long lashes.
For the face, I used COVERGIRL Queen Collection Natural Hue Pressed Powder in Brown Bronze and added COVERGIRL Queen Collection Natural Hue Bronzer in Brown Bronze under the eyes and in Ebony Bronze on her forehead and cheekbones to add a warm glow.
I finished the look with COVERGIRL ShineBlast Lip Gloss in Ember, which Queen took with her in her clutch for touchups throughout the night.
