Pinch, punch first post of the month

After having another flick through the new Lula Magazine which was celebrating its fifth birthday. I thought i'd treat you to the editoral spread they did on Strawberry Shortcake, the pictures also are the feature covers. There are seven differrent covers all together and seven designers ( Kenzo, Cacharel, Sonia Rykiel, Alberta Ferretti, Erdem, Charles Anastase and Moschino Cheap & Chic.) were asked to design an outfit for the character they were given. The shoot was styled by Leith Clark and shot by photographer Damon Heath.

Chanel Iman as Orange Blossom

Addison Gill in Cacharel

Kate Somers in Sonia Rykiel

Liu Wen in Philosophy Di Alberta Ferretti
Giedre Dukauskaite in Erdem
Kim Noorda in Charles Anastase
Charlotte Di Calypso in Moschino Cheap & Chic

I absolutely adore Lula magazine it is such a breathtaking magazine that ties in Fashion, Art and Music together perfectly. I love the interviews as they dip in and out of being formal and informal (asking questions about your favorite cakes and such.) It is a nice little twist, It is the little details like this that give more of a relaxed kind of feeling, it makes it feel more personal and you get engaged more as a reader. Every issue seems to be thought out but not to the point where it is over stylised and loses focus. The fact that the issues have a theme running through out them is a nice little touch ( The redhead issue is my favourite!!) I think Leith Clark (Editor in Chief and founder of Lula.) has hit upon something very special and has come up with a winning 'formula for a magazine that is a big success and has every girl after reading her magazine wishing they too could be an official Lula girl gracing the cover or being covered in interview.
