Couture2011Fall: Christian Dior's Fantastic Voyage

Who: Bill Gaytten
What: Christian Dior
Wear: Fall 2011 Haute Couture
Rating: Is it possible to have a second first impression?!

No matter how many years a person could have studied under the mastermind of John Galliano, to be thrown into the lead position due to an untimely misfortune would cause even the most creative designers to tremble. With the greatest opportunity and challenge any designer could have, Bill Gaytten, Christian Dior's new head designer, might have been a bit overambitious in his attempt to combine his personal design aesthetic to that which is expected of the Dior house.

To ease his first steps Gaytten had a few of the industry's best to hold his hand. Stephen Jones showed up with his headpieces, Patt McGrath on makeup, Michael Howell on set design, Orlando Pita on hair, and Jeremy Pita on beats.

Here are four pieces that I really enjoyed. The skirts took interesting shapes, and I love the play on mixed prints. the collection gave me a ladylike feel and I think the soft color palette will be interesting for fall. What say you?

Totally Obsessed xoxo Love
